'Kay. [11 Sep 2005|07:14pm]

[ mood | meek ]

Since DnD apparently doesn't work for chess and games (unless you're either MooSe or me), I'm thinking either Saturday night or Sunday afternoon for the next session. Or something. 'Cause we really should have another one, sometime, I think.
Post commentage, pleeez.

Here's a question: How do you win in D&D? [05 Sep 2005|11:14pm]

[ mood | tarrasque plushie ]

Greetings, fellow role-players!

I am the phreidly One. theowlster has asked that I offer my assistance and experience to you. I've been heavily involved in Dungeons and Dragons for nearly a year now--I have role-played several characters as a player in various RPG campaigns (as well as one game using the White Wolf Mage d10 system), I've been the Dungeon Master of two D&D campaigns since this spring, and I'm looking to start an SG-1 RPG within a month or so. I've created dozens of D&D characters, and have crafted three independant worlds for D&D campaigns.

I'm by no means an infallible expert, but The thinks I may be able to help with the basic rules (giving him more time to plan the sessions and work on the more specific questions you may have).

My contact information is available on my info page (I'm rarely on Yahoo!, though).

I also have the three Core Books--The Player's Handbook, The Dungeon Master's Guide, and The Monster Manual--available as Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files. I can send them via yousendit.com to any of you who might wish to have your own copy for perusal.

Hmm. I need a D&D icon.

Goodness Marcie May!

We may have to call everything off if this sort of shananagan continues in our lives!

Good gravy.

Today MooSe came over, and we made quite a lot of progress on her character sheet. If anyone else wants my help for doing that, just say the word.
Do you guys want to have another session before school starts, or would you rather wait?
Oh, MooSe: if you'd send me a scan of your character sheet, I'd appreciate it a lot. I just want to check to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. Thankee.

My fellow langleycorpers:
DnD. When do you want to?
And, you know, I've made a new OFFICIAL RULING OF DOOME. A PC consists of a Player and a Character. If there is no Character, there will be no Player.
In other words, you gotta write a paragraph about your character if you want to play. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll have to kick you out of the game. Yeah.
A paragraph's not very hard to write, or anything. Not if you work at it.
Now, I suppose for the game we'll be playing next, you won't need the paragraph. But, for the characters you guys make after that? Yeah. Paragraph-fest!
If I were you, I'd just do it.
If you don't, I'll throw rats at you. Real ones, I mean; not just the DnD rats.

Hello, my fellow Langcorpers. [13 Aug 2005|12:36pm]

This entry might seem a bit rushed, but yeah.
Tonight, I'm going to start building a world! Prepare yourselves!
What I want you guys to do, sometime, is start thinking about your characters. Two paragraphs (at least) would be much appreciated. It'd also be neat if you posted those two paragraphs here, so I, and everyone else, can read 'em. I mean, we do have this community for a reason.
Also, please post any questions you have about the character creation process. Believe me, I know how confusing it can be.

Okay. Wednesday. Thursday. Friday night can work, too. When do you feel like it?
We don't need to actually play; we can work more on character design. We can even eat snacks.
So. When?
Please, would someone else post an entry sometime? I'm startin' to feel all...alone...

Edit: Wednesday can't work for me. Sorry. The other times can. I can do Saturday night, too. Sunday, I'm free the whole day.

MooSe is going to be back next week. We need to do DnD.
So, yeah. When does everyone want to do it? Wednesday, Thursday, and (next, not this) Sunday are best for me. I can make Friday evening work, though.
Yeah. Comment.

My fellow langley-corpers: [27 Jul 2005|07:37pm]

Either Sunday or Saturday afternoon, D&D can happen. Firstly: which day is better for you?
Now, we've all been fairly busy this summer, so sometimes it's difficult to get everything prepared in time. For this session, we should give Dirk a break from the DM work. I could give DMing a try; I have been studying the books quite a bit lately, and know the basics, more or less. What might be better, though, would be a session devoted entirely to learning how to play. I now have all three of the new core rulebooks, although the Player's Handbook is probably all we'd talk about. Anyway, though, it'd make sessions later on more fun if we all had a better idea of what we were doing.
How does that sound?

I'm thinking Sunday for D&D, because Dirk's got camp again during the weekdays. We will miss MooSe; perhaps Marisa can play for Langley Corporal again.
This community will be used very often to schedule sessions, so for the latest news on D&D fun at The's, check here.

First post!

I am MooSe. I play the character of Langley Corporal. A female elven monk.
